Looking for a fun, quick crochet project?  I found this easy “Fluffy Bath Mitt” pattern in the June 2019 issue of “Crochet World” magazine.  In addition to this pattern, the magazine includes instructions for an additional 25 projects!  So . . . whether you’re a bath soaker or not, you can find something for yourself in this magazine.

Crochet Bath Mitt Suggested Supplies:

This pattern is really pretty simple and straightforward.  That being said, there are a few things you may want to think about before you get started.  Here are my “Fluffy Bath Mitt” crochet tips:

Crochet Tip 1:

In this case, the type of yarn you use really does matter.  Sugar ‘n Cream yarn is 100% cotton, so it absorbs water MUCH better than your standard acrylic yarn.  This is a must for a project like this!  While acrylic yarn may look nice, it won’t be functional as a bath mitt.

Crochet Tip 2:

If you’re planning to crochet this bath mitt from one, 2.5 oz. ball of yarn, you NEED to pay attention to the guage of your stitches!  The suggested guage for the width of the project is 4.5 inches.  As you can see, mine is quite a bit bigger than that.  While my height was good, I still ran out of yarn before finishing the project.

Crochet Tip 3:

While running out of yarn mid-crochet project is not ideal, it did “force” a little extra creativity from me.  (Mostly, because I didn’t want to run to the store to get another ball of yarn).  Luckily, I had a ball of variegated yarn on hand that looked good with the work I had already done.  Do you like my “accent” border?  Play around with yarns, and don’t be afraid to step outside the box!

Whether you’re looking for a quick, weekend project, or just need something to keep your hands busy, I think you’ll enjoy creating your own “Fluffy Bath Mitt”.  Now it’s your turn, so gather your supplies and . . .
