I had so much fun making this Angel!  Believe it or not, this is basically a paint by number project.  Instead of paint, though, you place little colored gems on a sticky canvas.  This angel is part of the Diamond Art Christmas collection.

If you’ve ready many of my posts, you probably know that I like order and patterns.  As a kid, I loved color by number books.  Let’s be honest, I still do.  In fact, for Mother’s Day a few years ago, my kids got me a color by number adult coloring book.  They know me so well!

Taking it up another level, Diamond Art creates sticky canvases and little colored gems to fill them in.  This angel project is one of those, and I’m excited to share it with you!

This Diamond Paint by Number Kit Includes:

  • 12″ X 12″ sticky fabric canvas.
  • Little gems in eleven different colors.
  • Wax with a stylus to use in placing the gems.
  • A tray to keep your gems contained.

Yep, this little box contains everything you need to make your own paint by number masterpiece!

Diamond Paint By Number – Awesome Attributes

Awesome Attribute #1:

So . . . organization makes my heart happy.  The people at Diamond Art must speak my language, because the colored gems included in this kit came sorted and labeled.  Among the supplies, I also found some empty zip-top bags to hold the gems once they were opened.  Unlike traditional paint by number projects, completing each color one at a time doesn’t really work when you’re using a sticky canvas.  More details about that later.

It really is best to work on this design in sections, so having a way to keep the gems sorted and contained is, well, awesome!

Awesome Attribute #2:

The sticky fabric canvas is genius!  It’s strong enough to hold the gems in place allowing you to create a very sparkly work of art.  Who doesn’t love sparkles?  The downside, though, is that the gems aren’t the only thing that will stick to the canvas.  To keep things protected, this paint by number project includes a plastic sheet to keep the canvas covered when it’s not being worked on.

Awesome Attribute #3:

This is probably silly, but I really love this little tray!  It’s ridged, which helps keep the gems in rows ready to move to the canvas.  It also has a little funnel type end so you can dump the extra gems back into their storage bag.  Since I was working in sections, I ended up changing colors often, and this came in super handy!

This little paint by number angel of mine was super fun to make!  As an added bonus, it really adds to my holiday decor.  Diamond Art makes tons of different designs, maybe I need to get one for each season.  You should totally get one, too!
