Looking for a fun, quick crochet project?  I found this easy “Cotton Bloom Table Runner” pattern in the Summer 2019 issue of “Crochet!” magazine.  In addition to this pattern, the magazine includes instructions for an additional 23 projects!  So . . . whether you’re looking for a home decor project, something to wear, or an afghan pattern or two, this magazine is well worth a look.

Cotton Bloom Table Runner Suggested Supplies:

I love this table runner!  The pattern is fairly simple, and doesn’t take a huge amount of time to complete, perfect for a little weekend crochet project.  Plus, when finished, it’s a very versatile piece of home decor.  Win – Win!  To get started, simply look over the pattern, and get to work!

Crochet Table Runner Tips

Crochet Tip 1:

This project is actually done in halves.  I love this, because it allows you to get the tapered ends without having to decrease any of your crochet rows.  Once you’ve completed each half, the pattern gives great instructions on how to hook them together.

Crochet Tip 2:

Once your table runner is in one piece, there is a short edging section followed by the creation of the fringe.  Each fringe section contains 12, 10-inch pieces of yarn.  Rather than measuring each piece of yarn, I cut a piece of cardboard to ten inches, and wrapped the yarn until I had the number of strands I needed to create each tassel.  This ought to save you some time!

Crochet Tip 3:

The crochet pattern does include instructions for attaching each of the tassels to the table runner, but sometimes a picture is MUCH more helpful than words.  You’re Welcome!  Once all your tassels are attached, simply trim them so they are even.

I know I mentioned this at the beginning of this post, but I really love this project!  It turned out so pretty!  Want one of your own?
